Black Eyed Susie is a Kapiti Coast band formed in the small West Coast beach community of Te Horo.
Susan Colien-Reid, violinist, vocalist, and songwriter is the band's driving force. She collaborates with guitarist and singer / songwriter Ramon Oza , who spent some years touring with the Drifters.
The latest line up was formed in 2007 and already the band has played at all Kapiti's major events, lower North Island festivals, and many private functions.The sound is rock driven and celtic flavoured, drawing from a little bit of Susan's Irish / Welsh ancestry.We have been likened to the Irish band "Horselips." Blackeyedsusie supports a message of social justice, and is concerned about the impacts of family violence and war
